Plot outline and storyboards for "Maxim's Travel to Russia"

OK, so, the project now evolves into illustrations to a tale about Maxim's travel to Russia - done as a combination of free hand and digital illustration and typography.

First, the plot outline.

Maxim is a magician who lives in Purpundia.

In this adventure he and his trusty horse Ferdinand embark for Russia - Maxim's long time dream.

On the way they get stranded in a snowstorm. Maxim would only use his magic if he couldn't make it work any other way; he builds an igloo instead and they weather the storm in it.

Later they arrive in St. Petersburg. Maxim cuts a stately figure on his horse and soon the whole town is abuzz with the news of a mysterious stranger. He is served the best meals at the restaurants and sold the best merchandise at a discount. He rides to the Palace Square and soon is granted an audience with the Tsar himself at the Winter Palace. The Tsar is very impressed and intrigued by our hero. He invites him for tea with the royal family. There Maxim meets Tsarevna Karina - the Tsar's daughter, who, under the spell of Maxim's charm, confides in him her love for a poor chimney-sweep Vanya who works at the Palace. Maxim promises to help.

This time he has to use his magic, though. He is invited to a ball at the Mikhailovsky Castle where the creme de la creme of the  Russian high society will appear. In a twist on the Cinderella tale, Maxim rides to the poor abode of the chimney-sweep, transforms him into a beautiful prince and brings him to the ball. Tsarevna and the strange prince dance and have a great time together but then we all know that this has to end at midnight...

The Tsar asks Maxim about the charming prince at the ball. Maxim tells the story of a young offspring of some country or other who travels around the world. The Tsar is suspicious since it seems to him that he has seen the prince somewhere, but he cannot not quite nail it... Yet, there is another ball happening soon and the prince is invited again. The story repeats.

Maxim tells the couple that he can use a more powerful magic to transform the chimney-sweep into a prince for longer than a single evening, but even that won't last forever. If Tsarevna secures the blessing of her parents for a wedding then they will have 6 months till the charm comes undone and the prince is exposed. At that point in time the lovers will have to decide whether to stay together and live as ordinary people or separate and come back to their previous lives.

The wedding is approved, the couple goes on a honey moon and travels the world. In 6 months Tsarevna decides to forgo the privilege of royal offspring and live as a simple woman with her loved one.

The End.

Now, the storyboard. I think I'll have time to make 6 to max 10 artboards in (in spread mode, as suggested by Gen).
 These are the scenes I think to include:
1) Maxim and Ferdinand get stranded in a snowstorm on the way to St. Petersburg
2) Maxim and Ferdinand cut a stately figure as they ride the streets of St. Petersburg
3) Maxim is granted an audience with the Tsar
4) Maxim at the Tsar's tea party
5) Maxim and Vanya ride to the ball
and/or
6) Karina and Vanya at the ball
7) Karina and Vanya travel the world

The sketches for the first two are almost done and will upload them soon. All artboards should share a visual style and combine figures, letter-figures and typography (for the description of the scene illusrated.)
